There are 2 different user types that would be created in a sap hana database.
Technical users are created in order to perform specific technical tasks on the database.
Administration, backup and monitoring requirements for example can be dispatched to 3 different technical users with relevant privileges.
Standard users relate more to personal accounts, in other words it is created for a person to access the database. Such users could be developers or data modeler for example.
Security access will be maintained differently in regards to the user type.
For most technical users, access level has to be kept opened at all time where as standard user access has to be restricted for security purposes.
Keep in mind, Sap hana users have nothing to do with application users which are created and managed within the application. Such user details are stored in application tables. They do not exist at the sap hana database level.
