Attribute views are virtual tables based on a dynamic SQL query results. The underline view query can have more than one table joined together. The particularity of this view is the type of data retrieved. Details and facts such as customer name, product name, Code references, client name, address, country, telephone and so on, would be elements of the attribute view. Measures should not be part of the view result.
Sap hana Analytic Views
Analytic views are more complex views with attributes and measures such as price, counts, amounts, quantity and so on. It can be visualized as a centralized fact table with all sort of measures extracted from the sap hana database and attribute views and other tables surrounding it. Calculations and aggregation functions can be used in this type of view.
Sap hana Calculation Views
A Calculation view is an advanced and complex sap hana modeling view. It is the last resort when attribute or analytic views cannot produce specific details report requirements. For performance reason calculation views as well as analytic views are executed with a specialized calculation engine. Sap hana calculation views offers complex calculation methods as well as higher level of use of functions and aggregates.
SQL Statement standard views and modeling views
Modeling views and standard views are both views however there are not generated nor used the same way. Sap hana modeling view are managed and exploited via a tool interface. Performance optimization and calculation capabilities are specifically built in relation to the type of modeling view. A standard sap hana view is limited to standard table joins and any computational statements won't be specifically tuned for better performance.
